Composite recycling and sustainability
Composite materials often provide a lower overall environmental footprint than traditional materials such as steel, aluminium or concrete. Lightweight construction reduces energy consumption during operation and transportation, while durability and corrosion resistance minimise maintenance and extend service life.
At the end of their lifecycle, composite components can be recycled through co-processing in cement kilns in accordance with EU legislation. Composite regrind can replace raw materials and fossil fuels in cement production, contributing to reduced CO₂ emissions and improved resource efficiency.
